Cannondale Slice RS SRAM Red Black Inc.

The new Slice RS represents a huge step forward for Cannondale in both design and aerodynamics.  With the Slice RS, Cannondale continues it's philosophy of system integration and can be seen throughout this bike.  As the flagship time trial and triathlon bike for Cannondale, this bike not only looks fast but is.

Cannondale engineers took one concept to heart in designing the Slice RS, "narrow is fast".  No other bike on the market has such a narrow frontal area as the Slice RS.  In order to increase the Slice RS wind-cheating aerodynamics, Cannondale use an external steerer tube... the steerer tube does not pass through the head tube, but instead is mounted in front of the head tube.

Cables are routed internally with brakes hidden behind the fork and bottom bracket.  The seatpost is Cannondale proprietary and is said to be the thinnest UCI-legal seatpost ever made.  Each of the Slice RS's tubes are shaped on NACA airfoil principles most noticable on the head tube, seat tube and down tube.

Race-proven Heritage

During the 2012 season, team Liquigas-Cannondale's own Vincenzo Nibali piloted the Slice RS to the many of the World Tour's top races, including the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a Espana.

Features

Naero-Tec External Steerer Fork

By moving the fork steerer outside the headtube we could use the smallest headset bearings possible, allowing for an unbelievably narrow headtube and reduced frontal area. The design is also extremely stiff for unmatchably precise handling.

CFit Modular Fit System

The modular bar/armrest adjustment system allows for a greater range of armrest stack and reach adjustment than even a standard bar/stem combo. The integrated 31.8 stem is adjustable in 5mm increments from 80 to 120mm, while the armrest height is adjustable in 2.5mm using the included spacers and bolts.

Aero Hidden Brakes

The Slice RS features Cannondale's proprietary Naero-tec integrated mini-v brakes. These brakes are tucked out of the airflow and hidden behind the fork blades and bottom bracket, resulting in brakes that are both easy to setup and maintain

Zipp 808s

When building one of the fastest TT/Triathlong bikes around, Cannondale chose the ultimate in aero wheels from Zipp, the 808s.  With their trademarked Firecrest shape the new 808s are Zipp's fastest wheel to date.
