How does Cervélo make a superbike ‘simply faster’?
The P5 features the most aerodynamic frameset and aerobars, but speed hasn’t come at the expense of simplicity. Built with non-proprietary components, Cervélo has made this bike easy to set up, easy to adjust, and easy to travel with—no more searching out specialty shops on the road or carrying extra tools. It also features an aero hydraulic brake, maximizing speed management with zero maintenance. Last but not least, we made sure it offers the widest possible fit range and innovative hydration and storage solutions. Easy to handle, easy to live with, and easy to push to top speeds.
The bike is designed to work with new parts from 3T and Magura; both companies worked closely with Cervélo on development. Magura RT TT hydraulic rim brakes stop the bike, bringing back a brake style last popular in the 1990s. Cervélo says the system is lighter than (less than 500 grams for the RT8 TT) than existing cable-actuated systems. It’s also more aerodynamic, thanks to shaping by Cervélo, and more powerful than a cable brake. Part of the advantage is that the hydraulic lines are unaffected by complex internal cable routing, which creates friction, and sub-par braking. Since the system is sealed, and uses hydrophobic mineral oil (instead of hygroscopic like most DOT fluids), they should require almost no maintenance, barring any damage to the lines or fittings. Magura backs them with a “five-year leakproof warranty.”

Shimano Dura-Ace Di2
Simply the most advanced integration of Shimano's Dura-Ace Di2. With hidden pockets behind the seat tube to house the Di2 battery, internally routed cables through the handlebar and stem and concelled cables throughout, the integration of Di2 with the P5 is second-to-none.
Integrated Rear Brake
The Cervélo P5 features a unique rear brake hidden underneath the chainstays, directly behind the bottom bracket. The Magura hydraulic brake is housed in an aerodynamic cover that also is home to the Di2 battery.
